AWS DataSync 支援 GCP 與 Azure 上的 Storage 上的資料了

AWS DataSync 宣佈支援 GCP 與 Azure 上的 Storage 了：「New for AWS DataSync – Move Data Between AWS and Other Public Locations」，比較特別的是，文章的 URL 有提到這兩家的產品，但在標題上反而就沒提到...

這測的重點就是支援 Google Cloud 與 Microsoft Azure 的 object storage 產品：

Today, we added to DataSync the capability to migrate data between AWS Storage services and either Google Cloud Storage or Microsoft Azure Files.

之前大家都是自己開機器手動搬，現在可以直接付錢 (依照 GB 計費) 用服務搬了，不過要注意網路頻寬的流出部份還是有費用...

昨天在「AWS User Group Taiwan Meetup 2022-03 線上 / 下小聚」這邊分享的主題，在講如何在 AWS 上弄出一個高可靠性的 Vault 服務。 投影片在 https://bit.ly/3igUbgh 這邊可以抓到，我另外傳到 Speaker Deck 上面了：(好久沒用這個網站了？) 其實這類架構的設計有點像是 AWS 的 Solution Architect 在做的事情，如果一般的客戶開出類似的需求，應該也是會設計出類似的東西... 另外畢竟是在 AWS 的會議室裡面講，有些東西還是會避免提到，但裡面有很多概念是可以互換的，像是 Microsoft Azure 或是 GCP 上面都有可以抽換的服務，Vault 也都有支援。

GCP 推出 AlloyDB，一套相容 PostgreSQL 協定的資料庫服務

也是在清 RSS reader 的時候翻到的，看起來是在今年的 Google I/O 上發表的服務，AlloyDB：「AlloyDB for PostgreSQL under the hood: Intelligent, database-aware storage」，值得提的是這篇有中文版可以看：「適用於 PostgreSQL 的 AlloyDB 隆重登場：從此擺脫成本高昂的老舊資料庫」。 另外還有一篇比較偏 PR 的文章也可以看看：「Introducing AlloyDB for PostgreSQL: Free yourself from expensive, legacy databases」，這篇就比較針對的提到了與 AWS 的服務相比，但畢竟是 PR 稿沒有明講 (出事會比較好打模糊戰)，但我猜測是與 Aurora 對比： AlloyDB was also two times faster for transactional workloads than Amazon’s comparable…

Microsoft 虛擬化的兩個消息：Azure 被打臉以及 AWS 推出轉移工具

首先是 VMware 發文打臉 Microsoft 說他們所宣稱的轉移工具 (從 VMware 轉到 Azure 上) 並沒有 VMware 原廠支援：「VMware – The Platform of Choice in the Cloud」。 然後 AWS 則是推出了從 Hyper-V 轉移到 AWS 的工具：「Migrate Hyper-V VMs to AWS with AWS Server Migration Service」，這邊倒是沒提到官方支援... 這臉不只是腫腫的而已了，有種連續技的感覺 XD
