Smooth Screen Recording Software?

I want to create how-to tutorial videos that include screen recording.

I want the final result to look similar to the video below

As you can see from the video above, the mouse movements and steps are very "smooth", i am not sure if it is an actual screen recording or just images with animations.

Eitherway, if you can recommend any software please let me know.

The use case is: create how to videos on how to use a platform/software

your example is a video editor. Your Mac comes with one - iMovie. I suggest you start from there (e.g. learn how to use green screening to “insert” your moderator/speaker, etc.)

To create a smooth Screen recording on your Mac please follow this instructions by Apple.

EDIT: the “hover over”-effect is something you can create in the video editing or presentation software. One example for the later, which is included with your Mac, is Apple’s Keynote.

There are of course a variety other programs - what are you using or have tried so far?

Good point, never thought of trying iMovie.

But im not talking about the "voice actor". I suppose that the video includes a screen recording (because of the mouse movements, clicks etc.) but the mouse movements are definitely not done by hand, they are very smooth without imperfections.

Also, the zooming ins and outs and spotlight focus on the screen recording looks very good, I haven't seen such feature on other softwares like camtasia or screenflow.

It really makes me think if this is actually a screen recording or just some images with animations.

I used Screenflow at a previous job, to edit together a whole series of tutorial videos based off screen recordings and voiceovers. It has a very decent editor built in and a lot of callout effects for the cursor, zoom ins and whatnot. It's not cheap, but it's very good and probably easier than wrangling iMovie into doing what you want.

this is probably partly animated. There are various programs which allow you to create the hover over-effects or animate/move the cursor smoothly on a motion path - how much time (as well as money) you can invest to create such videos?

if you are referring to subscription or license payments, money is not an issue.
I can invest my time into learning, or if someone else can do it i am happy to pay if it's priced in a reasonable way.

Can you mention few of such softwares?

you can try ScreenFlow mentioned by @ignatius345 above.

Another approach is to get familar with motion paths, object tracking, ken burns-like effects, etc. in video editing. Depending on your needs you might run into the restrictions iMovie has, but there is e.g. DaVinci Resolve (the free version will have you probably covered), as well as Apple’s Final Cut, Adobe’s Premiere/After Effects, etc..

another good example of what i want to achieve is this :

i have downloaded Snagit, Screenflow and Camtasia but I can't seem to find a way to do such a result with a screen recording.

Maybe, I am missing something, idk...

most likely you do. The Ken Burns-effect on the video or setting a marker (in form of a transparent PNG) is even possible in iMovie.
I would recommend to script one of the videos you like to do, then realize&record all required parts (screen recordings, green screen commentary overlay, 2D animations or markers, etc. … using e.g. the MacOS screen recording functionality, Vectornator/Illustrator/Inkscape, Pixelmator, Apple’s Keynote, Figurative, whatever…) and then choose a video editor… and try to make it.
If you then run into problems see what the respective community has to offer as a solution.

As mentioned before: there are programs which will help you A LOT with the “explaining the user interface of a program”-part with various functions to highlight etc., their editing abilities might be restricted compared to a dedicated video editor.

Script your tutorial. Record&create the parts. Combine, fit&edit these parts to create your final video.

I use Camtasia to do this. Here is the tutorial.
