5月22日，2022法网大满贯赛开拍。而瑞士球王费德勒的注意力，却移向F1西班牙站大奖赛。5月21日举行的2022F1西班牙大奖赛排位赛，吸引瑞士网球名将费德勒现场关注。
5月21日费德勒来到加泰罗尼亚赛道，做客梅赛德斯奔驰车房，与梅奔车手汉密尔顿、拉塞尔合影。费德勒还表示，希望两位车手在正赛交好运。今年法网，费德勒再度因伤缺战。此前费德勒曾经表示，他将于10月下旬在瑞士巴塞尔站复出。
