Hey everyone, I'm excited to share with the PH community a side project I've been working on. Email Comments aims to solve the messiness of having internal discussions about external emails. Enabling colleagues to make comments on emails directly inside Gmail without having to move the conversation to slack or hit reply all and remove the external person. It's like Google Docs comments but for Gmail.

***Unfortunately Google does not allow Gmail Add-Ons to utilize notifications so I had to get creative and use a chrome extension to enable this.

Here is how to install notifications: https://www.emailcomments.com/no... Here it is in the Chrome Web store: https://chrome.google.com/websto...

If any Gmail PM’s are reading this I’d love to chat.

FYI you need to use Google’s Business product (Google Workspace formally GSuite) to be able to enable Email Comments.

Coming soon:

I’ve had a few requests for features, the top three are below, if you have any more please comment below.

1) Executive Assistant (EA) Mode: This would enable someone to make comments on their emails that their EA could see when in delegate mode, (The EA could also make comments).

2) Share Email: At the moment to make and read comments everyone needs to be included in the email (To or CC), Share email would enable you to Tag someone not in the email (@email) and have them be able to see a read only copy of that email and read and make comments.

3) Share Email (via URL): Click a button to generate a private URL of an email that can be shared within your team.

If any of these features appeals to you please make a comment.
