The challenging action RPG launches on PC, Mac and Linux

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2, the challenging action RPG that entered Steam Early Access back in October, finally has a release date. Publisher 1C Entertainment and developer LLC Blini Games have just announced that the game will be launched on PC, Mac and Linux on May 17.

The action RPG adventure with rogue-like elements and inspired by the H. P. Lovecraft mythology is back with a brand-new, dark comic graphic style. The sequel continues the narrative of the cult classic first game, but this time players will continue the fight against the unknown with new elements like crafting - using blueprints and resources to create consumables and even new equipment.

Those who have already played the first game will recognize some of the characters, but new ones have been added too. In Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2, players must explore new procedurally generated locations, defend themselves against dozens of different enemies and face off against nightmarish bosses.

The game gives players access to six different playable characters, old and new, each one with a different playstyle. The Detective, Witch and Professor make a comeback, while the Medium, Veteran and Alienist are brand-new classes that join the series.

Apart from collecting hundreds of different weapons and clothing items, or craft their own, players get to tackle dozens of sidequests, which are crucial for their success in the Lovecraftian universe since these will award them with extra resources and items.

Interesting enough, players can trigger sidequests when they encounter them, but they don’t have to finish them right away. Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 is not a pure roguelike game, so if you die or choose to restart the level, you only lose progress in the current area.

Fans of the genre will be able to pick up Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 on May 17 via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store and other digital stores for $24.99 / €24.99 / £19.99, with a 15% store discount available during the first week of release.
