5月3日，据英国媒体《金融时报》报道，丹麦玩具巨头乐高正在大量招聘元宇宙开发人才，预计在 2023 年前雇佣 1800 名软件工程师，并将在一年内推出儿童元宇宙。乐高首席执行官尼尔斯·克里斯帝安森（Niels Christiansen）表示，乐高要构建一个与 MineCraft 相当的元宇宙，在为儿童提供良好、安全体验的同时建立与实体产品的联结。尼尔斯·克里斯帝安森补充称，我们不再将实体产品与数字产品视为 2 种不同的产品，而是将两者合而为一，为用户提供一种整合体验。此前报道，乐高已与《堡垒之夜》开发商 Epic Games 达成合作共同探索儿童数字世界。
