[ROM][SM-P605][10.0] Unofficial LineageOS 17.1 for lt03lte (20.03.2021) [BETA]
Is there a special reason why you've chosen these?
There're 64bit, right?
As I always use BitGapps ARM on a 32bit devices.
No specific reason. I used these Gapps on another phone...
You are right. They are 64bit. I totally forgot about the fact, that the old tablet could still have a 32bit ARM CPU
Thanks for the hint, will reflash it again. I was wondering why the animations were a little laggy. But video playback worked without a problem. Weird no application cryed out loud, that it doesn't want to run on the wrong architecture...
EDIT:
Used the mentioned BitGapps after a full wipe. Looks good, no big problems so far (only rotation was stuck once). No bootloops. Maybe I should mention, I don't use a sim card in this old tablet.
Didn't bother to look up the whole bitgapps-config issue, but this could give some good extras like youtube vanced, if needed.

If you've already unlocked the bootloader and rooted the thing, custom roms should also work.
Is it possible to flash 5.1.1 for SM-P605S then install lineage os ?
Acc to samfrew there's none.
Idk if the P605 bootloader and modem work on P605S.
Afaik first is the most important point and 2nd might not be necessary specifically if you don't need mobile data.
I doubt you risc a brick when flashing P605 5.1.1 bootloader BUT one never knows.

As far as I can see everything worked for me with installingNo boot loops so far. Google login worked. Need to test the other features too, but it looks good so far.
- The last TWRP from davidmueller13
- His last lineageos build (lineage-17.1-20210320-UNOFFICIAL-lt03lte) from this thread
- Instead of OpenGapps I installed NikGapps (Basic Package for Android Q)
A big thanks to @davidmueller13 for keeping our old tablet alive. I had your old lineage 7.1.2 build running for quite some time nowIt was time to update
@0x000eHx , are you still on this tablet/ROM? I've been quite happy with the 7.1.2 build till now, but some apps are removing support for older APIs, and if I want to keep using them, I need a newer ROM...
Anyone else have any positive/negative feedback after using for a while?
@davidmueller13 , how are you? Any security patches coming up? Or no more P605 for you?

yep, still in use. As we discussed some posts earlier, BitGapps is the way to go, NOT NikGapps (cause they are 64bit only and the P605 has a 32bit ARM SoC).
No problems so far. Only limitation is the not working camera, but I never really had a need for that in a tablet anyway. If you face problems while installing keep the sim card out of it until you finished and set up everything. That worked for me
Good luck

Thanks! I don't use gapps or the sim card. Camera... once a year, if that

So you are using MicroG? Can't help you with any experience in that direction, sry
So you are using MicroG? Can't help you with any experience in that direction, sry
That's ok. It's easier to make work than gapps

I spoke too soon. I guess by "camera" I was automatically thinking "photos". I forgot I use the tablet for Zoom occasionally, and video also requires the camera
I also got the impression, on first use, that in the three generations from A7 to A10 (LOS14 to LOS17), a lot has gone downhill as far as "configurability"/user control goes. I'm more and more convinced that Android is going the Windows way: all eye-candy and no substance
So, back to a backup of 7.1.2. I'll just have to hack some workarounds for those apps that require a higher API level.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences, these are mine:Ok, So I figured out what I needed to do to make it work.
My issues were originating from a broken GAPPS build. So I utilised the previous version.
0. Copy the LineageOS 17.1 zip and open_gapps-arm-10.0-nano-20210918 into the SDCard.
1. Reflash the original UK Firmware utilising Odin.
2. I did not let the device re-start and put it into download mode when it was rebooting.
3. I had to reflash TWRP 3.5.1 from the link mentioned earlier.
4. In TWRP I went through Wipe > Advanced Wipe > select data, system, ART/Dalvik Cache, Cache, Internal Storage > Swipe.
5. Also Format Data from the Wipe menu. Turns out this was helping ensure the installation was clean.
6. Go back to Install > select Lineage17.1 Zip from the SD-Card > Swipe
7. Got the device to boot and configured the wifi. Then rebooted it back into TWRP.
8. Install > select open_gapps-arm-10.0-nano-20210918 Zip from the SD-Card > Swipe.
9. Once installation is finished, I cleared teh Dalvik cache and proceeded to reboot.
Its going through the app updates now. Will come back to the group with my experience.
I bought the Samsung Galaxy Note P605 (2014) in late 2013, hence started with Kitkat 4.4.1, upgraded to Lollipop 5.1.1 and after end of support switched to Nougat 7.1.2/Lineageos 14.1 using TWRP 3.2.3. All the time (9 years!) I was very happy with the device and therefore welcomed very much that DavidMueller13 created a A10/Lineageos17.1 build. Hence I followed the procedure above:
0. Copy the LineageOS 17.1 zip (20210320 build) and open_gapps-arm-10.0-nano-20210918 into the SDCard
1. With my TRWP 3.2.3 I took a Nandroid Backup (including EFS and Modem) put it on the SDcard and activated Google automatic restore
2. In TWRP 3.2.3 I went through Wipe > Advanced Wipe > select data, system, ART/Dalvik Cache, Cache, Internal Storage > Swipe.
3. Also formatted Data from the Wipe menu. Just to ensure the installation was clean.
4. Right after that Install > select open_gapps-arm-10.0-nano-20210918 Zip from the SD-Card > Swipe
5. Once installation is finished, I cleared the Dalvik cache and proceeded to reboot.
6. Reboot went through without any problem (no bootloops!)
I went online via my WLAN hotspot and skipped the SIM card setup. Unfortunately, I was not asked to give Google account information, hence no restore of my apps. Even more the nano app updates ended with no Play Store. After several fruitless attempts to get the Google play app and to set up a Google account I installed the open_gapps-arm-10.0-micro-20210918 Zip. Now I did not skip the SIM setup but since I don't use a SIM I went through this item chose WLAN, entered my network code and tratrara the micro apps were installed and restore of my apps started. Maybe the open_gapps-arm-10.0-nano-20210918 Zip or the download was buggy, whatever. I am Enthusiasted about the new build, everything works! (Ok, no camera).
Sincere thanks to DavidMueller13 for all of this work!

Hello, i've tried but it doesn't work.
The lineageos and gapps work perfectly, i've then installed magisk from website with apk, and copied the boot.img from the .zip.
Thenk in magisk, near magisk i selected install, and i've selected boot.img, and pressed Go!.
He patched the file in magisk_patched_t4.....etc.img
From twrp, i've selected install image > selected the file > selected Boot partition and swiped.
It says done, but when i reboot it blocks in the galaxy note 10.1 screen, and i need to install the boot.img to restart the system again
as far as I remember in TRWP 3.2.3 I just selected the magisk patched image and installed it without selecting a partiton.
Else you might want to try it by using platform tools and fastboot command: fastboot boot <magisk_patched_boot.img> and installation by Magisk Manager install menu Install/Direct install (recommended).
Good luck
