This product is the result of a long journey. It started with a blog post that went viral for all the wrong reasons. That led me to quit social media for a few months as I tried to understand the forces at play.

I ended up leaving my job to pursue my first startup, which failed because I had no clue what it meant to build a product from scratch, much less a company. As I fumbled around trying to figure out what I was doing, I realized that I was trying to rely too heavily on Twitter, but I couldn't predict my growth, everything that I thought should work didn't, and I just had a really rough time of everything.

Then I started building Feather because I noticed a need for a CRM on Twitter. I started building a more traditional CRM, but then I realized quickly that there was an opportunity for something different, something that could make using Twitter a lot easier, a lot more rewarding, and a lot more predictable, and that's when Feather really came to be what it is today.

The main goal of Feather is to help you build stronger relationships by giving you a way to more easily focus on people. That's done via subscriptions. You can subscribe to 1 or more people on either a weekly or daily cadence, ensuring that you keep up to date with them. One of the insights I had was that I was missing about 80% of the tweets from the people I wanted to build a strong relationship with. And this is healthier than turning on the notification bell.

The second goal of Feather is to let you build a media platform from the people around you. This is a cooperative approach to social media, allowing you to inform the people close to you about which tweets are important and need amplified, and doing so in a way that focuses their attention on your message.

These two main features are the result of studying many different types of Twitter accounts and strategies. They have really helped me meet some incredible people on Twitter and completely change my trajectory.

The tools are free to use. The paid part of the app includes the analytics that track how much boost your amplified tweets get. You also get a premium subscription to my blog, How To Scale Yourself, which will give you tips on how to really maximize the value of your social networks.

I hope it makes your Twitter experience easier and more enjoyable the way it did mine!
