Why do you prefer Chrome?Been using Chrome for a long time. Could never stand FF or Safari.

It just feels the nicest to use, a bit like that comfy pair of slippers. I'm not particularly techie so I have no idea what goes on in the background, so that's all I can base it on.Why do you prefer Chrome?
I do occasionally go back and look at other browsers (including Brave), I've even tried Edge, but I always end up going back to Chrome.

I have not* spent time to look into the personnalisation options of Chrome (which is one of the only options [that I am aware of] with a similar features set) given that some of the lower-specced devices in my aramda did not play nice with it.

the tabs are pixelated and would not activate a sporting event.
this was before my first cup of coffee, and annoying!
SO
i switched to waterford were everything was smoother and worked!
Safari is annoying in iOS15 iPad wise were there are 7 open tabs options every start.
while Firefox iOS will work with those 3 dots, Edge could not.
Safari seems good on the MacBook air, 2010 mojave which i am typing on now.
I switch to Waterfox on the Dell XPS 13" because Edge was not loading pages, and keeps on showing news stories.
seems to me i either get a MacBook M1, ditch Mojave or use Water-Fire fox from now on.
to answer the OP ?, Safari today- Water-Firefox starting tomorrow.
I just tried WaterFox and wow it's slow.Safari 14.? was not working as far as opening tabs on the Mojave MacMini

that is weird, could be something slowing that as an ad blockerI just tried WaterFox and wow it's slow.
On my Mac Mini there is an Ethernet cable that run the Internets
(i know that is cheating in 2022)
I tried installing Waterfox on the macbook air to no avail.
therefore the Browser might not work for all macs
I have noticed the speed is faster than Edge recently on the Dell XPS

Always found it to be a terrible resource hog. Better since the M1 optimised version, but still not great.
I tried Edge once it moved to Chromium and…. I couldn’t believe it, but it was really good!! The advantages of Chrome, and significantly lighter on system resources! Would definitely recommend anyone who is using Chrome give it a go.

I tried Edge on my Mac and it was good, but with Safari I get better battery life, the integration with keychain and Apple Pay is also very handy, also I’m using private relay, which is a hit or miss for the moment, maybe it will solve some problems once it will be out of beta.
Too bad I can’t find an adblocker as good as uBlock Origin, for the moment the combination o NextDNS, 1Blocker and AdGuard manages to block most ads.

DuckDuckGo as my main search engine, can’t complain. Hush and an Adblocker and am all set.

If I may ask, what sites are you on where AdGuard doesn’t block ads? Apart from YouTube (…) and Reddit.Safari on my Mac, iPhone and iPad, Edge on Windows.

Mostly local websites - meaning national websites, not international - even with EasyList imported in the filters list, and before adding 1Blocker to the mix, AdGuard was breaking the left side of YouTube - the favorite list - for me.If I may ask, what sites are you on where AdGuard doesn’t block ads? I have heard "well it doesn't run ....... on this website". - Sounds like a sketchy web site, do you really want to use it?

Sketchy? Right Safari runs like crap on sites I need to use for work, and they are far from sketchy. The one site doesn‘t like Firefox, so I’ll use Vivaldi for that site.Safari Technology Preview. Fast, easy to use, does everything I need in an intuitive way. come on folks, its a browser, it browses, doesn't matter beyond that.

Firefox, chrome, and others have way better extensions (pop up blockers and others) than Safari ever will.

It is weird to think that Microsoft makes the best browser for the Mac.
I like Firefox as well and was a user, but the Android version doesn't play well on tablets, while Brave behaves better. So I switched to Brave as my primary browser.
Was using Microsoft Edge, but not really liking some of its privacy settings.
Really hated Chrome with a passion. I only installed it on my Windows machine in the past because I didn't know any better. I dumped Chrome the minute Microsoft Edge adopted Chromium. I don't use it at all on my Android. I set Brave as my default browser everywhere now.
I only use Safari on my iPhone 7+. Since all browsers on iOS run webkit engine anyway...

Chrome as come a long way honestly. There's lots of customizable security settings, far more than Safari, and if you have a Google account everything syncs up across your accounts if you want it to. If Google's "security" settings aren't super effective I have almost every filter in uBlock Origin active to ensure as much privacy as possible albeit the internet is never fully secure. Based on this I feel safer in Chrome and the people that hate on Chrome I ask you, do you hate Chrome because it's the cool thing to do? You can trust what any company says when it comes to privacy.
Lastly, Chrome actually gets updated routinely instead of waiting for a quarterly, bi-annual, or annual update of the OS *cough* Safari.
