3月23日，据两位知情人士向The Information透露，加密货币项目Worldcoin计划以 30 亿美元的代币估值进行1亿美元融资，参与机构包括a16z与Khosla Ventures等，这笔资金将用于加快球形设备的生产。 据悉，Worldcoin 由前YC总裁创立，计划推出一种普及性、零门槛的加密货币，通过其开发的一种球形装置扫描虹膜来构建一个独特的个人识别码，使得每个人获得的数字货币具有独特性。去年6月，该项目曾完成2500万美元融资，a16z等参投。（The Information）
