Apple’s latest MacBook Pro laptops have been a triumph of performance thanks to the beefy M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, as well as a redesign that saw the welcome return of dedicated ports for HDMI and SD cards. They’re also on the pricey side, starting at $1,999.99 and going way up from there. Now, the faster 14-inch MacBook Pro with 10-core M1 Pro CPU and 1TB of storage has dropped to a new low price of $2,249.99 at Amazon — reflected as an automatic discount when it is added to your cart.

This laptop configuration features Apple’s M1 Pro processor, complete with 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM. The M1 Pro in this machine has 10-cores along with a 16-core GPU that makes it more than capable for heavy content work across Apple and Adobe apps for photo and video editing and more.

We have recently seen similar MacBook Pro deals flicker on and off at times at Amazon, often selling out quickly. So be sure to act quickly if you’re contemplating the new MacBook Pro.

Wow I also didn’t realize that the M1 Pro Max started at $3499. This sort of feels like when they first released the Touch Bar models and charged a super premium for them. It was only about a year before they dropped those prices pretty significantly. I feel like these computers should come down quite a bit here in another 8 months or so.

With the regular M1 being so capable for me and I am sure others as well, I wonder if they shrunk the market for the Pro and Max chips.

I know the heaviest duty users (who are likely connected to an external monitor and editing video, etc) are probably rejoicing the arrival of the Pro/Max, but it seemed like 7-10 years ago, if you had to perform a task that was slightly more resource-intensive than Microsoft Officing and internet use, marketing and Apple Store workers directed you to a Macbook Pro. Not sure that’s really necessary anymore.

Exactly. I’m constantly surprised at the capability of my 8GB M1 Mini in comparison to my 32GB 2019 i9 MBP. If you exclude gaming, a stock M1 will overachieve for 95% of people.

Wow that’s a pretty good deal, I paid $2500 (canadian dollars) for my 8 core 14" and while the 1 TB of space would be most welcome, I’m certainly not wanting for additional cores for my current use case.
