Revelations from the 2022 Nonprofit Technology Trends Survey

Throughout the past two years of pandemic disruptions, the nonprofit industry has learned to adapt and thrive. Sage Intacct surveyed over 900 nonprofit leaders to find out how organizations have built resiliency during these difficult-to-navigate times in order to achieve mission success.

The good news

More than twice as many nonprofits (44%) saw revenue increase in 2021 than in 2020. Not only did giving increase, but it also rose across the full spectrum of funders—individuals, corporation and governments. Nonprofit leaders also faced continued pandemic challenges. New COVID-19 variants, as well as government mitigations in response, made it difficult to plan or host in-person events. Program disruptions were common amid strong and growing demand for services. Nonprofit finance leaders reported technology to be the key success factor required to pivot operations, boost employee morale, and increase organizational resiliency.
