Austin-Based Rideshare Service, Fetii, Aims to Solve Congestion and Keep Groups Together

For groups and events in the Austin and College Station areas, finding rides can be a bit of a pain. Either the group has to split up and take multiple vehicles or a charter vehicle has to be reserved days in advance. With Fetii, group transportation is easy and affordable.

Fetii is the world’s first group-focused rideshare service that aims to create convenient and low-cost group rides. This unique service utilizes an IOS and Android app to connect to a network of 15-passenger transit vans. The platform easily splits the fare via QR code when the group enters the vehicle.

Unlike other ridesharing services such as Uber or Lyft, Fetii allows passengers to effortlessly travel together in single vehicles, rather than multiple.

CEO Matthew Iommi and CTO Justin Rath coined the idea for Fetii when they purchased a local shuttle company in College Station. During their time running the shuttle business, Iommi and Rath found that most of their customers were using Fetii as a substitute for Uber and Lyft in order to ride together. So, hungry for a new opportunity, Iommi and Rath created Fetii in hopes of providing cheaper, on-demand transportation for groups and events.

While Fetii is affordable, it is also environmentally friendly. By utilizing the Fetii platform there are fewer vehicles on the road, creating less traffic and less CO2 emission.

“Urban cities are facing a grave congestion issue at the moment with no solution in sight. The key is to limit underutilized vehicles by providing a convenient group rideshare service. With Fetii, our network of 15-passenger vehicles provides a superior transportation experience while removing unnecessary vehicles off of the road. At scale, we believe we can make a real impact in how city transportation is conducted.” Matthew Iommi, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Fetii.

Already, Fetii has skyrocketed and become the go-to method for many groups looking to get from one destination to another. In the month of October alone, 35,675 passengers were transported and 4,579 trips were serviced around the Austin and College Station areas.

“We are beginning to see a variety of use-cases on the Fetii platform. Whether it’s a night out with friends, a concert, a sporting event, wedding, or business conference, groups can now ride together on-demand while being environmentally friendly.” Justin Rath, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Fetii.
