It’s meant for beginners, so if you are a beginner, then this will be a perfect fit for you and it takes about six months to complete. Yeah, this is a long course, there are different topics, different ideas and it truly fits the growth with Google tagline because it is literally growing with them for quite a bit of time. This entire course is made by employees or designers from Google itself. So it’s not just something done by Google, but the Google employees have been a part of this. So I think that’s pretty cool.

Now, email courses are really in demand. All you need to do is type your email address and you can get different course materials inside your email itself. Design for hackers as one such platform, they teach you different topics like font anxiety, size stress, colour clashes, column soap, these are interesting titles nevertheless. A $57 mini-course, but the best part about it, if you want to build your own workflow, your design workflow or improve your designs, then this is a great course. You also get a bunch of resources like user persona research templates. There is a website called Workshopper. On this website, you have something called training, and they have a bunch of different courses that they provide you. Some paid, some free like free design sprint training, so if you want to get to know what design sprints are if you want to see how to do design sprints, then this is a great resource for that and masterclass is also there for design sprints if you want to go even in depth. They’re also giving away a free e-book, which is called ‘Design your own custom workshops’ allows you to basically conduct workshops. If you’re trying to conduct workshops on your own, this is a great guide to check out. If you have something like a designer’s block, this could really help you get rid of it. They have a bunch of topics under the free course. The art of lighting, the art of storytelling, which in my opinion, is one of the most important parts of the design. Also, if you want to get into things like 3D motion and animations, these also have aspects of those used at a company like Pixar. They also have something called colour science under this course, which I think is incredible for people who are stuck with colour. Introduction to colour, colour spaces and more and each of these is explained in-depth with some amazing videos and other resources as well. So if you want a free course that helps you become more creative in the UX UI design field, this is perfect for you.

freeCodeCamps is one of the most well known coding websites. However, they’ll also introduce some good UX/UI resources and courses as well. They have something called UI/UX design tutorial from zero to hero with Figma. So if you’re looking to build your skills in a tool like Figma, if you want a consolidated course where you go from wireframe to complete design, then this is the one for you. Again, it’s free, it has a step by step guide, it also has a video attached to it. So whatever you like, you can check out from here and on top of that, they have other resources which can get you started, like some articles, some nice UI kids, some starter kits and much more that can help you build your UX/UI design process better.

The University of Michigan has worked along with Future Learn to create a killer course with different topics inside design. UX research at scale is one of their newest additions, and again, the best part is it’s free of cost, so about three hours a week and about eight weeks long, so it’s really going in-depth with this. There are a lot of other topics they’ve come up with like, Evaluating designs with users, UX design from concept to prototype, and so many more concepts inside their library, which I absolutely love.

If you’re fond of things like daily design challenges and such and such, this is the one for you. This is, of course, an email-based course, just type in your name and your email, and you can join for free. They give you actionable emails, which are good for people who have less time. They also give you homework so that you can work alongside them and alongside the course. You can check out the different topics they’re teaching, like, how to develop an eye for design, which is really important, working with negative space, a mobile-friendly approach, and so much more. Again, this is a 14-day interface design workshop, so it won’t take long. Go ahead, try it out.

I wanted to give a paid course as well. Fiverr has come up with a platform called learn.fiverr.com. It shows you a bunch of different professionals created some amazing courses, all for a small price. Most of these courses average around $10-$30, which I am very happy about for things like logo and hand-drawn design, and so much more. This might be a small platform, it doesn’t cover every single thing. Again, I think this is a great alternative for something like Udemy or Udacity. If you like those platforms, I’m sure you like this as well.
