Welcome to 2022!

Happy new year from the F# Software Foundation!

Along with my personal thanks for another wonderful year, I am excited to share some new developments with all of you in the community.

2021 again proved a difficult year for many people. The continuation of the pandemic has impacted us all greatly, and it continues to impact the Foundation and all of our programs. Despite this, we have all managed to come together and have successful rounds of the Mentorship program, and the community consistently continues to grow.

I want to thank all of you for continuing to prove that the F# community is amazing. I again spent this year in awe of all of the wonderful contributions and activities contributed by all of you throughout the entire year. I am forever grateful to be part of this community, and I hope that is has continued to prove valuable to others. Thank you to all of you - especially those who have stayed connected and dedicated towards helping grow the community in these tough times. Whether you've been asking questions on the forums, helping people through the Mentorship Program, or just being social on Slack - thank you.

With the new year, the Board also has an exciting new announcement to make.

In an effort to increase F# adoption and educate more people about how to use the language, we plan to start publishing educational content on a frequent basis. Succinct, well-tested, and task-oriented content geared for people interested in using F# in a particular scenario will be written to help them get started in the right way. Each piece of educational content will be usable on any platform and any set of tools for F#. When recommending a library, we’ll also ensure alternatives are covered so that people new to F# can be aware of several options available to them.

Full details are being finalized, but we hope that this new initiative will help engage even more people and bring even more participants to this wonderful community over time. Contributions from the community will be welcomed and encouraged, with specifics coming soon. If you are interested in helping shape this initiative, please feel free to reach out to Phillip Carter, myself, or any of the other Board of Trustee members.

Welcome to 2022 and thank you again for allowing me to continue being a part of this community. I look forward to the upcoming year and working with all of you.

Thank you,
Reed Copsey
Executive Director - F# Software Foundation
