I own a refurbished Galaxy S21 ultra 5G model SM-G9980, with a firmware version G998NKSU1ATBY and I live in Canada. I will like to know the following. To which zone this phone belongs to, and how I can update it to the newest version. I have found different firmware versions, but none that was close to mine. Does anybody have an answer? I really need help with this.

That sounds like a Korean firmware in a G9980 phone. Double Check the model number. It sounds impossible.

You have to go to settings, then "about the phone" Then "software information", and there check "Version of the operator's software" to see what exactly it says there. Maybe that will give you more information.

I have checked it and it is the correct baseband version G998NKSU1ATBY. Remember, this is a refurbished phone send from Honk Kong. Anything is possible.

Thank you for the information! Too bad is an Exynos. How I can go ahead and bring this phone up to date. By the way, once it showed up on the screen that it has developer options. I'm sorry if I ask too many questions. Is my first phone and I try to undesrstand this new world open to me. But I do understand quite well the PC world.

I did the OTA upgrade for CHC version, and it installed pretty quickly without any fuss.

The patch notes were really long for this one, covering privacy/home screen/lock screen/camera/galleryar emoji/sharing/calendar/browser/smart manager/health/bixby routines/accessibility/features and improvements.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting but I didn't find much visually different at first glance. Nice to have some new options like the battery protect feature, and the palette matching based on your desktop background. So far seems pretty smooth, but going to see how the battery is today and see how fast it drains.

The battery will take a good week or so to settle. As its a new update. Are there any bloat apps etc

It still has the same 3rd party bloat apps that come with the chinese version originally, but when i went into the galaxy app store, it tried to get me to download more crap, a music app and some kind of shopping app. It said some apps need to be updated for compatibility, and it was basically some new app i didnt need. Most of the chinese apps can all be uninstalled, just some of the samsung apps tend to be uninstallable.

Fortunately, you can still install google app store and google services comes pre-installed, so my phone is basically running just like the TGY firmware once i have deleted all the crapware, except there is some chinese features baked in (call recorder/bixby home/yellow pages/call blocking using tencent services instead of hiya).
