12月12日，印度最大的商业银行——印度国家银行（SBI）董事总经理C S Setty表示，央行数字货（CBDC）将很快成为现实，在跨境交易将发挥关键作用。目前，印度储备银行（RBI）正在研究两套CBDC——一套基于批发账户，另一套基于零售。Setty称：“在加密货币可能会成为一种资产类别之际，我认为CBDC最终将改变跨境交易。这只是时间问题。”他还指出，推出CBDC将会带来很多问题，例如“银行的中介角色将会发生什么变化”“CBDC将如何影响国家的货币和财政政策”等。（The Times of India）
