站长之家（ChinaZ.com）12月10日 消息:当地时间12月9日，Meta（原名Facebook）宣布正式向美国和加拿大的18岁以上用户免费提供旗下VR应用Horizon Worlds，用户可使用Oculus等虚拟现实头盔进行登录，不再需要邀请码。
据悉，去年Meta曾向部分开放了Horizon Worlds的测试版，用户需持有邀请函才能加入。
Horizon Worlds 创立于2019年9月，在Horizon Worlds中，所有用户的虚拟形象都没有双腿，用户可以创建自己的世界，并且还可以与其他用户交流并一起玩游戏。
今年10月，Facebook宣布将把公司名称改为“Meta”，突出对元宇宙发展的专注。
Facebook曾公布计划称，希望在未来十年内，能让10亿人接触元宇宙，并形成一个数字行业，为数百万人提供就业机会。
