CyAN, the Cybersecurity Advisors Network, is inviting you to a one hour exploration into the causes and responses to cyber fatigue, with special guest experts and moderated by CyAN VP, Peter Coroneos.

Cyber fatigue. It's a form of work disengagement specific to cybersecurity, and in this age of cyber crime gone wild as criminals opportunistically take advantage of the crazy chaos COVID created, it's a luxury no-one can afford.

CyAN's latest event looks precisely at this, with Andrew Reeves, a leading researcher in the field of cyber risk behaviour who will be joined by CyAN members - author Lisa Sisson and cyber governance expert Sorin Toma.

The session will be moderated by Peter Coroneos.

"Encouraging Employee Engagement With Cybersecurity: How to Tackle Cyber Fatigue"

"Cybersecurity fatigue is a form of work disengagement specific to cybersecurity. It manifests as a weariness or aversion to cybersecurity-related workplace behaviours or advice and occurs as a result of prior overexposure to cybersecurity-related work demands or training.

"We present a multidisciplinary review, which draws on research from management, psychology, and information systems. Practitioners can use the four-component model to identify the type of cybersecurity fatigue that may be occurring in employees and adapt workplace processes accordingly to improve behaviour.

"In addition, we present three illustrative case studies, adapted from employee experiences, to demonstrate the application of the four-component model to an organisational context. The review presents a framework for coordinating the existing approaches to cybersecurity fatigue in the current literature."
