We'll show you how to cast from a Windows PC along with an Android and iOS device.

Casting to an Amazon Fire TV Stick is a handy option. It can help you view your laptop, smartphone, or tablet content on the TV screen connected to your Amazon Fire TV Stick.

It's easy to set up with a Windows 10 or 11 PC or Android device. It's slightly more difficult on an iOS device.

We'll walk you through how to cast on all three options.

Getting Ready to Cast to Your Fire TV Stick

Your Windows 10/11 PC and Android device have native casting ability, while an iOS device requires a third-party app.

You’ll need to enable both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your devices. Whenever using Bluetooth, it's a good idea to reboot your computer or device before setup. Windows 11 has some new Bluetooth settings which should improve its functionality.

Also, make sure your devices are within 30 feet of each other before casting.

Cast to Your Fire Stick From Your Windows 10/11 PC

You’ll cast to the Fire Stick using Windows Action Center.

Windows Connect Button
  1. With your Amazon Fire TV remote, hold the Home button for about three seconds.
  2. Select Mirroring.
  3. You’ll see the Display Mirroring screen.
  4. On your computer, click the small square icon in the lower right corner.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Click your Fire TV device listed (it may be listed as Fire TV by default.)
  7. On your TV you’ll see preparing to mirror the display from your device to your Fire TV.
  8. Your PC content will cast to your Fire TV.

It’s important to note that while on the Display Mirroringscreen, Alexa will not have functionality access to your Fire TV Stick.

For example, you'll have to wait before asking Alexa to play something on Fire TV. Your Fire TV Stick will be in mirror mode until you exit this screen by pressing a remote button.

Cast to Fire TV Stick From Your Android Device

An Android device will have native ability to cast to a Fire TV. The settings you encounter may vary depending on your Android device type.

  1. With your Amazon Fire TV remote, hold the Home button for about three seconds.
  2. Select Mirroring.
  3. You’ll see the Display Mirroringscreen.
  4. From your Android device Home Screen, tap Settings.
  5. Search for, and tap to enable Cast or Screen Mirroring (depending on the device type you have.)
  6. Swipe down from your screen top.
  7. Swipe to page over until you can tap SmartView.
  8. You’ll see a list of available devices.
  9. Tap Fire TV (or whichever name you've assigned your Fire TV Stick.)
  10. Tap Start Now.

After a few seconds, your Android display will cast to Fire TV. You may need to tap a button on your remote to exit theDisplay Mirroringscreen.

Cast to Fire Stick From Your iOS Device

You’ll need to download an app on your Fire TV to cast from your iPhone or iPad. In this example, we’ll use the AirScreen app, which is free and works well. It doesn't require an app on your iPhone or iPad, although it does include advertisements.
