美联储理事Christopher Waller周五在Center for Financial Stability的演讲中表示：「对我来说，比特币基本上就是电子黄金……它没有任何基本的内在价值，但没关系。我们在 1958 年的时候就知道，经济中无用的物品是可以有价值的」。他还提到，美央行可能需要转向更快地缩减其债券购买计划。此前报道，Waller 还公开表示稳定币是一项真正的创新，其带来的竞争对消费者有利。他对美国推出 CBDC 的必要性持怀疑态度，并引用了私营部门支付创新的发展（特别是稳定币）作为不需要 CBDC 的原因。
