11月10日消息，游戏引擎公司Unity将以16.3亿美元的现金和股票收购为《指环王》和《阿凡达》制作特效的工作室Weta Digital，以布局元宇宙。Unity将能利用Weta Digital的技术和人才开发特效工具，并聚焦于元宇宙机会。Weta Digital获得奥斯卡奖的特效团队仍将以Weta FX的名义独立运营，预计将成为Unity在媒体和娱乐领域的最大客户。Weta FX将从Unity获得技术和工具许可，签署价值5000万美元的年度协议和商业服务合同。Unity股价今年上涨约12%，消息公布后，盘后交易下跌8%。（路透社）
