华裔女性吴弭当选美波士顿市长
当地时间11月2日，华裔女性吴弭当选美国新一任波士顿市长，改写该市200多年的历史。美媒称，吴弭出生在美国，但自幼说汉语，经常给父母当翻译。
吴弭1985年出生在美国芝加哥，她的双亲在台北出生长大。爷爷奶奶老家在北京，外婆是四川人、外公是广东人。他们在1949年离开大陆，定居台湾。 1980年代，其父母从台湾移民到美国，不久后父母离异，而她是四兄弟姐妹中的长女。 她的母语为汉语，同时能说西班牙语。
2003年，吴弭以优异的成绩被哈佛大学录取，前往波士顿就学，并在毕业后开始涉足政坛。
