生产高清电视机Vizio的厂商被非盈利组织 Software Freedom Conservancy(SFC) 提起诉讼，SFC指控其多次未能履行和遵守 GPL 开源许可证的基本要求。
Software Freedom Conservancy是一家致力于推广开源软件和捍卫自由软件 开源 许可证的非盈利组织 。SFC称 Vizio 电视机产品使用的 SmartCast 系统包含了 GPL 授权的软件，按照 GPL 许可证要求，购买 Vizio 产品的消费者有权访问源代码，允许对源代码进行修改、研究和在适当条件下重新发行。SFC的执行总监Karen M. Sandler表示2018年8月就已经注意到Vizio没有遵守GPL开源协议的情况，多年来一直督促Vizio，但2020年1月Vizio完全停止了回应。
