Ophelia's mission is to reinvent drug & alcohol rehab in America: to replace folklore with science, drug dealers with doctors, and stigma with privacy, convenience, and choice. We’re a diverse collective of hearts and minds - healthcare providers, scientists, technologists, and policy experts - backed by leading venture capital investors to re-imagine and re-build the addiction treatment industry.
Ophelia makes medical best practices for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) private, convenient, and accessible, using a novel telehealth platform to provide FDA-approved medications, chronic support, and therapy at low cost. We have recently raised a $15 million Series A investment (Menlo Ventures, Y Combinator, General Catalyst, and others) to expand access to treatment across America and grow our founding leadership team. Join us, save lives, and help fix healthcare for those who need it most.
Culture @ Ophelia
Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously
We’re a small team at Ophelia, and love a good laugh. Expect to be made into a slack reaction gif on your first day, defend your opinion on how gif is pronounced (spoiler alert, you’re wrong), and get a lot better at Quiplash and Codenames.
Feel free to include gifs in your application (encouraged).
Take Our Product Super Seriously
We care deeply about our users and making their lives better. We apply product thinking not only to our product cycle, but to our entire business to make sure we’re always optimizing our user experience.
We’re all passionate about the addiction medicine space, and love collaborating across our roles and departments to provide the best product we can.
What We Build
At Ophelia, the users we build products for wear as many hats as we do. We build products for our patients to connect with Ophelia and their providers, for our team members to better understand our data, and for our clinicians to provide high quality care to our patients. We’ve built a state of the art, proprietary electronic health record for our team to provide tailored treatment to each of their patients, that we’re constantly improving to make our clinicians lives easier, and our patients lives better. One of the most important ways we do this is with our data, and we work to aggregate it from all our sources to help the team draw brand new insights from it.
Key Traits
Technical Proficiency
Full Stack: Engineers at Ophelia work across our backend, database, and multiple front end apps every day, delivering impact wherever the team needs.
Speed + Quality: We move quickly to constantly add new features to our growing codebase, and respond to our users feedback in real time, but also make sure to leave the codebase better than we found it with every addition.
Flexibility: Our scope, goals, and feedback are constantly changing, so we move between projects and stacks quickly to continue delivering top line business impact.
Autonomy
End to End Ownership: Engineers at Ophelia own the product cycle from inception to launch, and are expected to operate independently and communicate progress effectively with the whole team.
Strong Ideation: Our new products and features come from all members of our team, so bring strong opinions and ideas about how we can improve our product and share them often.
Desire to Wear all the Hats
Data/Product/Design: Engineers at Ophelia are also data analysts, product managers, and designers, so be passionate about the entire product thinking space and every step of the product lifecycle.
Be Part of Our Tight Feedback Loop with Clinicians: We’re always sourcing new ideas and improvements from our amazing community of clinicians, so you should be excited about working directly with our users to build the next generation of our product.
Understand our Patients: Everyone at Ophelia interfaces directly with our prospective patient population, and is always thinking about what we can do to better serve this population both as a business and a product team.
