New feature finally available for Microsoft Teams users

The adoption of Microsoft Teams keeps improving, so it makes sense for Microsoft to focus on refining the experience with the service on all fronts.

Including as far as the transition from desktop to mobile, that is, as the Redmond-based software giant wants to make it as easy as possible to stay connected even when leaving the office and picking up from where you left off on a smartphone.

This is actually the purpose of the latest feature that allows users to transfer calls from PC to phone nearly automatically.

As reported by onMSFT, this feature is now live for users, allowing for someone who is part of an active call to simply switch devices without dropping the connection in the first place.

Nearly seamless transition

The process is as straightforward as it could be. Assuming you are already logged in with the same Microsoft account on both devices and the Microsoft Teams clients are configured, all you need to do is to just launch the app on the smartphone where you want to resume from where you left off.

In other words, if you started the call on a PC and then have to leave the office, just open Microsoft Teams on your mobile device and you should see a prompt showing up on the screen right after launch.

Microsoft Teams detects the active call and lets you choose between adding the mobile device to the call or transfer the connection from the PC to the smartphone. Tapping the second option ends the call on your computer and then resumes it on your mobile device, all nearly instantly, therefore allowing for a smooth transition between devices.

The new feature is currently rolling out to Microsoft Teams users, but it shouldn’t take too long before broad availability is reached.
