The rehospitalization rate is 28%, and death rate is 14% for those who do not see a physician, but 14% and 7% for those who do receive follow up care. However, 10% of post-acute patients who are admitted to nursing homes never see a physician during their stay and the median stay for these patients is just 11 days.
