据本月早些时候提交给SEC的监管文件，Circle在2018年收购Poloniex并于2019年将其售出，此项出售录得1.568亿美元亏损，Circle表示此举是为了「剥离与投机性加密货币交易相关的业务」。SEC于2017年12月对Poloniex提起诉讼，因其涉及「对可能被视为证券的加密货币的交易」。今年3月，Poloniex提出以1040万美元和解此案。
Circle还透露它正接受美国财政部外国资产控制办公室（OFAC）调查，该办公室负责执行美国的制裁行动。Circle称2019年收到OFAC及一家伊朗政府机构的行政传票，调查Poloniex存在的可能违反制裁的行为。Circle表示相关和解金可能会达到110-280万美元，该公司已为此拨出至少110万美元。（华尔街日报）
