This past year, we've all had to adapt with astonishing speed to current events, technology changes, and customer demands. We're living and working in an increasingly fast-paced and complex world. Even though we haven't experienced a change on this scale before, the speed of transformation and the need to keep up has been a part of the conversation with our customers for many years.

At Oracle, we rewrote our applications from the ground up for the cloud because our customers needed the right solutions to move their business forward. Many were falling behind because of legacy applications that impeded their ability to innovate. Such systems are typically highly customized, with data and business processes often spread across multiple disparate instances, and lacking the flexibility of modern cloud solutions.

Now we see businesses switching to cloud applications so that they can adopt new business models, embrace continuous innovation and bring new products and services to the market faster. We're proud that so many organizations are choosing us for their digital transformations, organizations such as:

TTX Company, a leading railcar pooling company that owns the majority of the intermodal, automotive flatcars and boxcars in North America. They also have almost 80 maintenance facilities to provide the right car to the railroads in good operating condition, and at a low cost. But their ability to move fast had been held back by an old and highly customized, on-premises SAP system and other SaaS solutions. Victoria Dudley, CFO and Treasurer, and Bruce Schinelli, CIO, explain how TTX replaced this legacy landscape with a big bang implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, HCM, and SCM. Timing was everything, because moving to the cloud boosted TTX's ability to execute when circumstances changed in 2020. Operating on a modern suite of enterprise applications allows TTX to concentrate on their business, not the technology.

The Kroger Company, one of the largest retailers in the United States and one of the top employers in North America. They have 2,750 grocery retail stores, an ecommerce site, 35 manufacturing facilities, 1,885 fuel centers, and 2,256 pharmacies. Agile people management is crucial in the retail industry, but to be able to quickly adapt to meet the demands of the business, Kroger needed to move off a very complex and customized environment that included 15 disparate HR legacy applications. Bridget Claire, Senior Advanced Engineering Manager responsible for HR, payroll, and labor productivity, talks about how the move to our HCM cloud solution is taking the company in a new direction and bringing the associate experience into the 21st century. Her goal is to modernize and standardize HR processes to provide a seamless associate experience that attracts and maintains the right talent.

Mondelēz International, Inc, one of the world's largest snacking companies. Their product line includes Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookies, Cadbury and Toblerone chocolates, Ritz crackers, and Philadelphia cream cheese. Robert Owen is the North America lead for Mondelez's transportation technology platform, which is a complex array of hundreds of plants, buffers, distribution centers, branches, external manufacturers, and suppliers. To release more innovative potential, the company needed to move on from its existing on-premises transportation management platform. Owens talks about the shift to a modern cloud platform, which has very successfully "kept the cookies flowing" through the lockdowns and beyond. The company, and this Mondelēz executive ,believe that innovating is not optional, so they've adopted an agile mindset to prioritize speed over the allure of perfection.

The common thread through these stories is the need to move fast, be agile and continue to innovate. What we've learned over many years is that organizations that change the fastest have the biggest competitive advantage. Going fast is a lot less risky than you think. Competitors will pass you by if you're standing still. If those customer tasters above have caught your attention, we'll be drilling deeper into their stories at the Oracle Live virtual event on July 13 at 12:00 pm ET. You can register here now.
