Zendar is hiring an Electronics Lab Technician
About Zendar:
Zendar has created a revolutionary new high-resolution radar imaging system that has resolution similar to lidar, allowing self-driving cars and robots to see the world with detail not possible with cameras, even in inclement weather. We are a team of electrical, mechanical, software engineers and researchers developing the next generation radar technology. We want to demonstrate that radars can take on many of the functions of lidar at a much lower cost and in all weather conditions.
Job Description:
We are looking for an Electronics Lab Technician to support our hardware team. The Technician role will be responsible for electronics assembly and testing, lab maintenance, installation and management of prototype hardware, and some testing activities.
Job Duties:
Assembling hardware units including installing and routing wires, fastening cables and connectors, and mounting circuit boards
Provisioning and testing finished units, including flashing firmware and running QA tests
Soldering cable assemblies and performing circuit board re-work
Installing and managing our prototype hardware in the lab and throughout our test vehicle, including servicing and repairing prototypes, installing new sensors, and running cables
Working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers on hardware design, test setups, and installations
Assisting with lab operations, including ordering materials, organizing equipment and supplies, and maintaining an inventory tracking in spreadsheets
Documentation and improvement of lab processes
This position is perfect for a self-starter who is extremely hands-on and excited to tackle new challenges. You will have a broad range of responsibilities and an opportunity for constantly learning new skills as well as teaching and advising the rest of the team!

Required Qualifications:
Self-starter who can work independently and proactively identify and recommend areas of improvement
Previous experience working with, handling, and testing electronics products
Soldering experience
Some familiarity with a Linux environment and bash
Excellent workmanship
Careful attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication
Bonus Qualifications:
Ability to independently troubleshoot and solve problems
Ability to take ownership of and improve lab management processes
Job Details
Location: Berkeley, CA
Hours: Part time, 20-24 hours per week with flexible scheduling
