The last 18 months have seen a rapid increase in demand for desktop and application virtualization to support remote work. A significant amount of this growth is centered on desktop-as-a-service (DaaS), an area in which VMware is uniquely positioned. With a single cloud control plane for all Horizon environments, hybrid and multi-cloud management capabilities, and unmatched integration and value, VMware helps companies provide end users with secure remote desktops and applications.

This success has not gone unnoticed by the industry, and I am happy to announce that VMware Horizon has won the Frost Radar™ 2020 Growth, Innovation and Leadership award in the DaaS market!

Frost & Sullivan is a global analyst firm that continually researches a wide range of markets, industries, and technologies. The collected information is used to determine the Frost Radar, a visual representation of the various companies in a given industry relative to their growth and ability to innovate. Companies are rated by certain parameters, including scalability, research and development (R&D), product portfolio, vision and strategy, sales and marketing, and market share growth.

In the Frost Radar™ 2020 Growth, Innovation, and Leadership report, VMware Horizon scored exceptionally well because of its strong growth in terms of daily active users and in use cases that went beyond telework, such as cloud bursting, disaster recovery, application colocation, and deployments as part of a larger cloud migration. These factors contributed to VMware’s placement as the leader on the Growth Index.

The placement of VMware Horizon and the overall Workspace ONE platform factored heavily into our position on the Innovation Index. This platform aggregates device management, application and desktop delivery, access, and security into a single platform, which when combined with Carbon Black and SASE, forms our Anywhere Workspace vision. Other contributors include support for cloud-based deployments on VMware Cloud on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and more, in addition to technology that maintains the user experience and performance in conditions that affect a distributed workforce.

While our customers are the primary guidepost for validating our products and company direction, receiving validation from independent analyst firms like Frost & Sullivan helps us reinforce our vision of delivering continuous innovation to our customers.
