微软发布了其即时协作工具 Microsoft Teams（需要注册） 的个人版本，其功能基本上和商业版本相同，允许用户聊天、视频通话、共享日历、位置和文件。微软向所有用户提供 24小时的免费视频通话。免费用户允许召开最多 300 人参加持续时间 24 小时的视频会议，在新冠疫情结束之后微软会将参加人数限制在 100 人，持续时间限制在 60 分钟，但一对一的视频通话仍然允许 24 小时。随着 Zoom 的崛起，微软的消费者通信工具 Skype 正日益变得无足轻重，但微软还没有宣布用 Microsoft Teams 取代 Skype 的计划。
