Report claims a 120Hz iPhone is coming this year

A new report today indicates that Apple is planning to launch a 120Hz iPhone this year, and unsurprisingly, Samsung will be the company building this piece of hardware.

Korean site The Elec claims the iPhone 13 Pro models (both the standard and the Pro Max) would come with 120Hz screens manufactured by Samsung Display, with no other supplier currently involved in the talks.

For now, it’s believed the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini would stick with screens similar to the ones on the current models, so only the Pro models would make the switch to 120Hz.

Last year for the iPhone mini

This year’s iPhone lineup will include four different models, just like the current generation that you can purchase today. So Apple plans to launch upgrades for all current iPhones, though there’s something very important mini users should know.

The 2021 generation is likely to be the last year for the iPhone mini, as Apple is believed to be planning the demise of this particular device after only two years. The reason is as simple as it could be: the device is selling well below expectations, and people familiar with the matter said recently that Apple went as far as adjusting the production by reducing the output of the iPhone 12 mini and ordering more Pro and Pro Max units.

This is because the Pro models are selling much better these days, with some third-party data showing the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro are currently leading the sales for the new-generation lineup.

Needless to say, everything is still in the rumor stage at this point, as Apple has obviously remained completely tight-lipped on all of these, so as far as the company is concerned, the iPhone mini is still alive and kicking.
