Sci-Fi Survival Horror RPG Chernobylite Launch Timeframe Revealed

The highly-anticipated title lands on PC and console in July

If you're a fan of the Stalker series, you probably already heard about Chernobylite, a sci-fi survival horror RPG that takes place in the same location. The game is already available via Steam in Early Access and GOG via Games in Development for $30/€25, and we now have information about the final version's release.

Without further ado, developer The Farm 51 announced recently that Chernobylite will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in July. Indeed, we don't have an exact release date yet, but at least we know we won't have to wait too long now.

In anticipation of the big release, those who already own the game can now download the Exclusive Final Pre-Launch Mega Patch titled “The Final Stage.” The major pre-launch patch brings significant changes to the storyline, dialogue, localization, soundtrack, and, most importantly, Chernobylite’s concluding level.

But wait, there's more! Players who haven't yet tried the game will be happy to know that Chernobylite will benefit from its last Early Access 20% discount on Steam from April 23 to April 30. Moreover, any purchase made during Early Access will guarantee all future, post-launch DLC for free.

Along with the release timeframe, developer The Farm 51 revealed a list of the most important improvements introduced in “The Final Stage” Mega Patch, which includes an entire rewrite of the storyline to make sure the Chernobylite mystery will be one to remember, and major improvements to player immersion with all-new voiceovers in English and Russian.

Furthermore, localization for all major languages is now complete, including Chinese simplified, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Spanish, allowing gamers to enjoy Chernobylite in their native language.

Also, a brand-new and original soundtrack from award-winning composer Mikolaj Stroinski has been implemented, building a whole new layer to a world already steeped in ambiance. Last but not least, the first part of the new level, Heist, has been added to tease what will await gamers in the grand finale.

The Farm 51 promised to offer more details about Chernobylite's launch on the Epic Game Store later this year, with further details on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 coming soon.
