Tasker App Beta Adds Support for Google Sleep API

Tasker is one of the more powerful Android apps when it comes to automating all sorts of things. For Android power users, it's hard to find an app that can accomplish as much as Tasker.

However, the beta of Tasker is getting a lot better, as the app developer is adding support for the newly-announced Google Sleep API, as announced on the app's Subreddit.

What Does Tasker Do With the Sleep API?

João Diaz, the Tasker's creator, posted an enticing video showing off how some of Tasker's most useful features could benefit from knowing whether you're asleep or awake. Basically, any trigger event you could want to use in Tasker can fire off based on your current state of consciousness.

For example, you could switch notifications on or off depending on whether you're awake. Another cool thing you could do, if you're into smart home devices, is to have connected lights turn on when you wake up or turn off when you fall asleep.

Tasker offers all sorts of options if you're willing to get creative, and now that it can track your sleep, you can do even more with it.

When Will Tasker's New Update Release?

You can download the Tasker Google Play beta right now, so if you're interested in trying the sleep integration, you don't have to wait. Unfortunately, the developer didn't announce when the app would release from beta.
