Apple is introducing new Fitness+ workouts for pregnant and older users, along with beginners.

Apple is bolstering its Apple Fitness+ subscription service---adding new workouts for pregnant users, older adults, and additional Yoga, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), and Strength workouts aimed at beginners. They will be available starting April 19.

There are 10 new pregnancy focused workouts, covering Strength, Core, and Mindful Cooldown categories. They are led by Fitness+ trainer and expecting mom Betina Gozo, joined by trainers and moms Emily Fayette and Anja Garcia.

Meanwhile, the workouts for older adults include eight workouts with Fitness+ trainer Molly Fox, joined by trainers Gregg Cook, Dustin Brown, Bakari Williams, and Jhon Gonzalez for Strength, Yoga, HIIT, and Dance sessions. All sessions last 10-minutes.

New Trainers, and Jane Fonda, Too

In addition, Apple Fitness+ is introducing new trainers---including an additional Yoga and Mindful Cooldown trainer, Jonelle Lewis, as well as bringing current Fitness+ trainer Anja Garcia over to the HIIT team.

Iconic actor, producer, author, and activist Jane Fonda will also appear on the service in a special Earth Day edition of Apple's "audio walking experience" Time to Walk. Fonda will share various stories, images, and some of her favorite songs.

"With more options for getting started, and staying active and healthy during pregnancy as well as at any age or fitness level, we hope even more people will be inspired to keep moving with our amazing team of passionate trainers," said Jay Blahnik, Apple's senior director of Fitness Technologies, in a statement.

"We are also incredibly excited to welcome Jonelle Lewis to the trainer team and can't wait for our users to try new HIIT workouts with Anja Garcia," Blahnik continued. "We've brought together an incredibly diverse and inclusive team of Fitness+ trainers, and we love seeing our team grow, giving our users even more options to find the best workout for them."

Available on Apple Fitness+

Apple launched its Apple Fitness+ subscription service in mid-December 2020. The service, which requires an Apple Watch to work, takes workout and other fitness-related data from your Apple smartwatch, and then uses this to assemble personalized workout programs. These come complete with videos to guide you through your regular sweating sessions.

Fitness+ launched with a library of 200 on-demand fitness classes, which Apple continues to bolster---as evidenced by this week's update.

The Apple subscription service costs $9.99/month or $79.99/year. If you're a subscriber (or a would-be subscriber) to multiple Apple subscription services, you can get it alongside Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+ and 2TB of iCloud storage for $29.95/month with an Apple One subscription bundle. (Prices may vary depending where in the world you are.)
