Rust 基金会正式成立 – 开源派
Rust 基金会（Rust Foundation）宣布正式成立，于美国东部时间 2月 9 日下午 4 点举行第一次董事会会议。Rust 基金会创始成员包括：华为、Microsoft、Google、AWS 和 Mozilla 。 初始董事会成员共 10 人，5 位来自创始成员公司，另 5 位来自项目领导层。基金会宗旨为负责管理 Rust 编程语言和生态系统，并为治理和开发该项目的维护人员提供支持。
Rust 最初是 Mozilla 的一个研究项目，2020 年 8 月 11 日，Mozilla 宣布重组裁员，大约 250 名员工被裁，其中包括 Rust 项目和社区的活跃成员。Rust 核心团队借着Mozila重组的机会，开始正式筹划独立rust基金会。如今已经将所有商标和基础设施资产转移到了新的 Rust 基金会。基金会的创始成员承诺在 2 年内，提供每年超过一百万美元的预算，用于 Rust 项目的维护、开发和推广。
