The Galaxy S21 is expected to launch in mid-January

Samsung has just published a teaser video for the Galaxy S21, confirming the recent speculation suggesting the unveiling of the new device would take place in mid-January.

While the South Koreans don’t share any specifics, they do suggest a new Galaxy S model is just around the corner.

And according to people familiar with the matter, the Galaxy S21 could be unveiled on January 14, while the actual sales would kick off on January 29 or 30.

If this is indeed the calendar, then the Galaxy S21 could be here in less than a month, essentially going live approximately 30 days earlier than its predecessors.

As for why Samsung wants to change the timing of Galaxy S models, it’s because the company needs to bring a new device to the market as soon as possible, especially because the Galaxy S20 didn’t perform exactly as expected.

S Pen support on the Galaxy S21 Ultra

And it’s all due to the pandemic which forced people to stay locked in their houses, so it goes without saying that going to a Samsung store to experience the Galaxy S20 live was pretty much impossible.

The Galaxy S21 will obviously come with upgrades to all three models, though the most important addition seems to be the new S Pen support coming to the Ultra configuration. This is believed to be the first step towards the demise of the Note series completely, as Samsung reportedly wants to retire this lineup of devices and focus on the Galaxy S alone.

Samsung has already confirmed it plans to bring some signature Note features to other devices, and there’s a chance the upcoming Note21 would be the last such model ever released. More information on the Galaxy S21 would be shared in the coming days.
