The smaller notch rumor returns for the iPhone 13
The iPhone 12 is already in stores, so now everybody’s attention is moving to the iPhone 13, which as per Apple’s typical release schedule should see the daylight in September next year.
And as it happens every year when the Cupertino-based tech giant starts the work on a new iPhone, here’s a rumor claiming the device would come with a smaller notch.
Apple originally introduced the controversial notch on the iPhone X, and the same design approach has been used since then for every new-generation model. What’s more, despite other companies mocking Apple for the notch, they all ended up using it, simply because they figured out it’s actually a good way to increase the screen estate.
Since Apple debuted the iPhone X, the company has been rumored to be working on a smaller notch with a new-generation iPhone, though substantial improvements in this regard have never been released.
The new rumor
This time, the smaller notch tidbit comes from YouTuber and leakster Jon Prosser, who says on YouTube in his Front Page Tech regular show that Apple is currently working on several iPhone 13 prototypes, out of which one comes with a smaller notch.
In other words, while the Cupertino-based firm is indeed considering making the notch smaller on the upcoming iPhone, don’t be too surprised if nothing changes in this regard.
Of course, Apple could very well embrace other plans overnight, so for the time being, you’d better not hold your breath for the notch to become smaller on the upcoming iPhone.
We’re still more than 9 months from the moment the iPhone 13 is supposed to see the daylight, and rumors like this come and go, so the only thing we can do right now is to enjoy the holidays and wait for more information on the device to make the headlines.
