Postscript Type 1 Fonts

As a designer on Macs since early 1990s, I have invested in hundreds of Postscript Type 1 fonts. But now, some work and some don't. In Font Book, I selected all fonts and clicked "Validate fonts", but I get 719 OK but 331 serious errors. They had all been working perfectly previously.
For example, ITC Benguiat Gothic worked but not the italics. So, I removed the font family and tried to re-add the fonts, but then none of them worked! I don't know what to do right now. Adobe CC Fonts and Google Fonts do not have ITC Benguiat Gothic; do I have to buy 8 OTF fonts for £199 from MyFonts?
I have hundreds of InDesign and Quark files with specific fonts; will I have major problems every time I try to open them? HELP!!!

I downloaded Big Sur 11.1 and have had no problems. BUT, there is an issue with Postscript Type 1 fonts.

Without knowing the error your fonts are giving, I don't think anyone else is going to be able to offer much help. Many thanks for your reply. But, I've had all my fonts, except minimum system fonts, in user/library/fonts for many years. So that's not the answer I'm afraid.

Instead buy FontXChange and you'll be able to convert your Type 1 fonts into other modern formats. Type 1 fonts are becoming obsolete these days and you shouldn't rely on them.I downloaded Big Sur 11.1 and have had no problems. BUT, there is an issue with Postscript Type 1 fonts.
