Removing the Single Post Page Sidebar
Welcome to the third post in our WordPress Series Twenty Seventeen where we will remove the sidebar on the single post page. I always hated the skinny post look.
This is our starting point with the out-of-the-box Twenty Seventeen Theme.
As we’ve established in previous posts, any PHP file in our Child Theme is executed INSTEAD OF the Parent Theme page of the same name. The page we’ll be copying from the Parent Theme to our Child Theme is single.php.
Because we want to keep the code logic as close to the Parent Theme as possible, we’re going to comment out the get_sidebar() call.
Ahhh yes. Our posts can breathe again!
