3 Business Books That Changed Me in 2019

Taking the steps towards building a successful business (or side-hustle) means picking up the knowledge to run said successful business.

I wasn’t interested in building a high-growth business, fast. A different approach caught my eye which was building a one-person business.

Can a one-person business be highly successful and profitable? That’s why I decided to read these three books. They led me to have my most profitable year.

Profit First by Mike Michalowicz

Business accounting meant managing the books and ultimately paying other people (expenses). But after reading Profit First I learned about a different process.. taking your profit first and then allocating funds for everything else. It’s quite simple and it changes your whole mindset about business. Read this book and it will make you rich. No, really.

Company of One by Paul Jarvis

Book | Audible

At one point I thought to build a business meant growing it big. It turns out that’s not what I want. I want to build a business that gives me freedom and an income that makes the business sustainable while giving me the free time that I need. All without managing employees, investors, and ultra-fast growth. This book helped me created a vision for a highly profitable company run by me, myself, and I.

The Million-Dollar One-Person Business by Elaine Pofeldt

I own a side-hustle which has one employee, me. It’s entirely possible to run a highly successful super-lean company with one person. And it’s achievable to make annual revenue of $1M or more. How do I know? Because I almost made it. To turn a $1M+ one-person business, there are specific steps to implement that will grow the business to new heights.
