5 "value for money" laptops to buy under ₹20,000

In the spirit of bargain hunting, this is in continuation to my previous review of "value for money" smartphones under ₹7,000. To be honest, there isn't much choice in this range considering that we are living in the peak of COVID times. All laptops are for light application usage such as spreadsheet processing, document editing and internet browsing. If you are a multi-tasking pro or programming enthusiast, these laptops aren't meant for you.

Zentality Air (₹13,468): This 14" notebook sports a 2GB RAM along with 32GB emmc storage which is very decent in this price range. If you ever come across the space limitation, there is no need to worry as you can expand the storage up to 1TB by buying additional emmc cards. It comes with Windows Home OS pre-installed and for office suite, either you can purchase MS Office or get the open source LibreOffice for free.

Avita Magus Lite (₹17,990): This 12.2" laptop is a 2-in-1, the LCD screen can be detached and used separately as a tablet! It comes with a 64GB emmc storage which is slightly better than the above and what's more, you also get a solid 8 hours of battery life! Another plus point compared to Zenality model is that its webcam is of much better resolution.

LifeDigital Zed Series - CI3 Model (₹19,990): The slightly higher price of this 15.6" notebook can be easily explained by the fact that it sports an i3 processor which is more powerful than the atom Quad-core or Celeron dual-core which generally comes in this range. It also has 1TB hard-drive storage which is more than sufficient. The only con is that it doesn't come with Windows 10 pre-installed but if you're a power user who can install a Linux distro like Ubuntu from scratch, you should be perfectly fine. The battery life is only 4 hours which is again pretty standard for i3 processor based laptops. Overall, this notebook is a steal at the given price point, just go for it if you are into heavy usage like programming, etc.

LifeDigital Zed - Celeron Dual Core Model (₹14,990): This is another 15.6" model of LifeDigital which comes with the slightly less powerful (and correspondingly more battery conserving!) Celeron Dual Core processor. It sports a Linux (Ubuntu) OS by default, so you must know the Linux basics in order to operate this notebook. Also, this comes with a 500GB HDD instead but has a higher battery life of 7 hours.

Zentality Zen Air C-114 (₹14,999): This 14.1" Zenality model sports an intel quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB emmc storage. It comes with windows-10 home preinstalled and reviews also indicate that this notebook has a very good battery life.
