Paul Graham 回忆了自己上世纪末在公司被收购后在雅虎短暂的工作经历。1，雅虎把自己定位为媒体公司，靠卖banner广告赚快钱，来钱快，就不思进取；2，雅虎里工程师是二等公民，素质不高。

他的公司被雅虎收购的时候雅虎有500个员工（1998年）；他第一次访问Google办公室的时候Google也是500个员工。他在Google感受到了与雅虎不一样的精神面貌：他在食堂与Google员工聊天，聊到了操纵搜索结果排序（seo）的问题；Google员工颇有主人翁精神，问道：我们该怎么应对？公司500人的时仍可以有这种员工，实在不错；思想政治工作不错：）
