Can We Use Serverless Functions to Build Microservices?

Over the past decade, serverless technologies have evolved tremendously. Today, any software running in the cloud, uses serverless functions, at least for DevOps operations. But what are the use cases for serverless beyond DevOps? Can we use serverless to build Microservices?

Before answering these questions, let us look at the possibility of creating a simple web application using AWS serverless application stack.
