消息称 VR 手势创企 Leap Motion 卖身给英国公司，金额仅为估值十分之一

据 华尔街日报 报道，VR 动作追踪技术公司创业公司Leap Motion 已同意以约 3000 万美元的价格将自己卖给英国竞争对手 UltraHaptics。Leap Motion 在 2013 年的估值约为 3 亿美元，而此次以 3000 万美元出售，意味着其估值仅为当年的十分之一。
据知情人士称，苹果曾两次接触 Leap Motion 商讨并购事宜，最近一次发生在去年。报道称苹果去年春天以 3000 万至 5000 万美元之间的某一价格接近收购 Leap Motion。据称苹果曾与该公司的人力资源部门进行了谈判，并且已经公布了官方报价，但不知是什么原因导致交易最终没有完成。有员工称，联合创始人 Michael Buckwald 和 David Holz 对苹果的消极态度使得这笔收购交易没有了后续。苹果曾在 2013 年尝试收购 Leap Motion，最终没有结果。
Leap Motion 于 2010 年成立，总部位于旧金山。Ultrahaptics 是一家总部位于英国的 VR 公司，成立于 2013 年，拥有 116 名员工，主要开发基于超声波的触觉技术。
知情人士称，UltraHaptics 将接手 Leap Motion 的专利和员工，其中大部分为工程师，包括 Holz。Buckwald 也将离开公司。
