对于部分中国估值最高的科技创业公司来说，他们的发展势头突然受阻。在数十家中国私营企业经历了多个月的估值飙升后，投资者对于这些快速烧钱或者发展策略遇到麻烦的企业日趋谨慎。据银行业人士和投资者称， 近几周，多家中国科技“独角兽”——估值超10亿美元的私营公司——已难于实现其融资目标。
一些公司已经推迟了首次公开招股(IPO)计划。同时，部分投资者还降低了他们对一家中国顶级创业公司——滴滴出行——的估值预期。
一些投资者正在看衰滴滴，后者是中国打车领域的龙头企业，在几年前将对手Uber挤出了中国市场。知情人士称，部分滴滴股票近期的私下交易价对应滴滴的估值为500亿美元至520亿美元，这低于滴滴在去年年底时的估值。滴滴在去年年底从日本软银集团等投资者手中融资40亿美元，估值为560亿美元。
