今年早些时候，苹果更新了 iOS 以阻止类似 GrayKey 这样的密码破解工具（警察和政府执法人员使用）。但当初的 iOS 11.4.1 在这方面的防御措施并不完美，研究人员仍然能想办法破解。不过随着上个月 iOS 12 正式版的发布，情形似乎已经发生了改变。 Forbes 最近的一篇报道指出，苹果似乎完全阻止了 GrayKey 工具，使执法人员无法破解运行 iOS 12 设备的密码。
报道并没有明确说明这个补丁是苹果最近推出的，还是自 9 月中旬 iOS 12 正式版发布以来就已经被部署到位，但至少从现在的情况来看，使用 GrayKey 已经没办法骇入设备了。
消息人士透露，在运行 iOS 12 及更新版本系统的设备上，GrayKey 只能完成“部分提取”，换句话说，该工具只能提取未加密文件和一些元数据，包括文件尺寸和文件夹结构等。
苹果目前在 iOS 12 的密码设置中提供“USB 配件”选项，将该选项关闭，iPhone 在锁定超过 1 小时后，通过 USB 端口传输数据将被阻断。
