Slack的开发者Felix Rieseberg将Win95打包成一个应用程序，并分享到了GitHub上，Windows/Mac/Linux用户都可以找到对应的安装包下载体验。
最新的v1.1版甚至还支持软盘，以适配64位Windows操作系统的安装包为例，仅128MB，运行时所占的RAM大约200MB。
不少体验了Windows 95 v1.0的外媒表示，整体运行非常流畅，经典的扫雷、空当接龙、记事本、画图、写字板等程序都完美工作，但IE浏览器、太空弹球尚需继续开发。
据开发者在推特解释，他是用Electron开发的，也就是借助JavaScript、HTML和CSS写就的这个跨平台的桌面应用。
