软件源代码托管服务 GitLab 曾宣布将在 8 月从微软的 Azure 迁移到 Google Cloud Platform，GitLab 通过 官方 Twitter 表示，迁移工作已经完成，并且会在周末继续监测系统运行的情况。
GitLab 在 2011 年推出，和 GitHub 一样，是基于网络的 Git 仓库，截至 2018 年 5 月，该公司约有 290 名团队成员，另外还有 2000 多名开源贡献者，IBM、Sony、NASA 等公司和组织都有使用。
GitLab 在去年 10 月获得由 Google 风投公司 Google Ventures 领投的 2000 万美元 C 轮融资。
GitLab 的竞争对手 GitHub 目前已经被微软以 75 亿美元的价格收购 ，GitHub 是全球最大的代码托管和协作平台，拥有 2800 万开发人员正在使用，拥有 7900 万代码库。
当时有报道称，微软收购 GitHub 的消息传出后，有大量用户涌向 GitLab，这些用户将托管在 GitHub 上的项目导入 GitLab。
